Dale & Kathryn were married at Yering Station in the yarra valley on 2nd April 2016. Below are some words from our bride and groom about their wedding day and their future together:
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. We met at a pub in Essendon (O’Sullivans) 10 years ago. We spent the whole night talking to each other over drinks.
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Dale proposed on Christmas Day in Perth in 2013. While everyone was opening their Christmas presents, off to the side, Dale proposed. We were very excited, and it was great because all of Kathryn’s family were there to celebrate.
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
A. We went to Noosa for our honeymoon.
Q. What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)
A. We plan to finish renovating our house. We bought it last year and renovated half of it leading up to the wedding, and moved in the week before wedding. We are going to America in September for a few weeks which we are very excited about.
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Our ceremony and reception were held at Yering Station. We picked this venue because it is absolutely stunning to look at, and the food and wine there is great.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. My wedding dress was by Simonelli Bridal Couture. It was strapless with French lace and beading on the bodice, with a tulle fishtail bottom. My hair piece was made with the same French lace and beading. My other accessories were earrings and a bracelet from Simonelli Bridal Couture.
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. Both Hair & Makeup was done by Tracy Bradley (The Makeup Room). My hair was up and my makeup was natural looking.
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. Civil Celebrant Robin Mayer
Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. Our florist was Sonia Pelly (Flowers St. Germain). We had a variety of roses, and some other varieties of flowers in amongst the roses, in whites and soft pink tones.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. We had a cheese wheel cake (creamy cheddar, triple cream brie and a soft blue), which we got from Curds and Whey at the Victoria Market
Q. Transport – what mode of transport did you choose and who was the supplier?
A. Kathryn was staying next door at Chateau Yering, so just walked to the ceremony. Dale drove himself there in our car
Q. Food & Drink – what are they like and who is the supplier if not venue?
A. The food and drinks were fantasic. For entree we had a prawn dish, for mains we had alternative lamb and snapper dishes and for dessert we had a lovely cookies and cream dish. The wine at Yering Station was exceptional.
