James and Madeline’s Shearing Shed Wedding was held on Phillip Island in South Gippsland on Friday 9th October 2015. Here are some words from the bride about there big day and their relationship.
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. We first met through mutual friends on a night out. First thoughts were both instantly attracted but took a little time to act on it.
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Proposal happened in Lorne on a weekend away with our little girl who was 6 months old. I was completely surprised when James got down on one knee while I was playing with our daughter Annabelle.
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
A. We are traveling to a few destinations in Victoria, Phillip Island, Melbourne City & Daylesford.
Q. What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)
A. Hopefully to grow our family even more.
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Both are at the Shearing shed Phillip island. 116 Gap Road.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. My dress is ivory lace with a tiny little bit of sparkle throughout. I had lace capped shoulders and a corset tie up at the back. The dress has a scallop lace trail. I will be wearing a veil only through the ceremony. I will wear diamond and pearl earrings. I will hopefully be wearing a pendant necklace that James gave to me when we met, which is a diamond shape but it’s in getting repaired at the moment so I may also not wear a necklace. My shoes are nothing special I brought them for the height. No need to pay any special attention to them. I have tried to match my daughter’s dress (flower girl) to my dress. There are some similarities.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. Yes, rustic.
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. My Hair will be half up and curled to one side and my make up will be natural tones of golds and browns.
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. Celebrant- Ivan Bradshaw

The flowers at reception will be locally brought and will just consist of babies breath & peachy colored carnations placed in a rustic vase on the sitting tables. Please note we are having a cocktail style wedding with a few tables for sitting.

A. Favour will be a lolly buffet with personalised thank you lollies. The cake will be a “naked” cake 2 tier with a flower arrangement on top.
