Kade & Kobey’s phillip island wedding was held at Rhyll Hall on 1st April 2017. Below is a little more about the couple:
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. We met on Phillip Island in 2007 when Kade came to play football here. Initially I was “just his friend’s sister” but it was the offer of a beer and a chat that led to more. I was the older woman and did just think he was too young for me!
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. On a sunny night in March 2016, Kade decided to take us down to Seaford beach for a beer as the sun set before dinner at our favourite Indian restaurant. There were people all over the beach and I remember distinctly babbling on about a seagull with one leg. Kade was pretty quite I now realise and was patiently waiting for the crowd to leave and me to shut up! He said some lovely things about what I mean to him and what he sees for us in the future before asking me to marry him. I was worried about having asked my Dad for his blessing, which turned into quite a funny story about missed phone calls and needing to watch the weather on TV and finish his meat and potatoes before letting Kade know that he could marry me!
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
A. We are having a short ‘minimoon’ to the Gold Coast. Then later in the year we will spend almost three weeks in Borneo.
Q. What are your future plans together?
A. We have recently bought a home in Langwarrin which needs some love in the garden in the next few months and kids are definitely on the horizon!
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Our ceremony is taking place in the Rhyll Park and the reception is in the Hall at the same location. I grew up in Rhyll and my parents still live there, so it is a special place to me. It is also where we spent a lot of time together in the early days of our relationship.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. My ivory dress is a very romantic, boho style with lace sleeves and bodice. The skirt has an ivory underskirt with a sheer and lace skirt. My veil is a long ivory tulle, lent to me by my friend Kirsty. I am wearing nude coloured low heels with tie up ankle straps. My Mum bought me a small pair of white gold and dark sapphire drop earrings. My wedding band is simple rose gold and my engagement ring is white gold with a round, brilliant cut diamond.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. A simple, garden wedding!
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. Hair by Beachside Hair & Beauty. A soft, tousled up-do to show off the lower back of my dress. Makeup by Jaimie, MAC products with a very natural colour palette.
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. Celebrant Peta Finn. Peta is a colleague and beautiful friend.
Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. Our flowers are ivory roses, Star of the Sea pods, Alpine Snow and Easter Daisies along with some native and natural leaves and flora sourced from local gardens. Leigh Womersley is putting all this together for us, including bouquets and reception decoration. She has also created three tee-pees of branches decorated with mason jars and flowers for our arbor. Leigh is an ex-florist who has an amazing eye for craft and flora with fabulous taste. A great friend of my Mum’s.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. Red velvet, white mud and chocolate mud cupcakes made with love from our amazingly talented good friend Cassie James of Little Nellie Boutique
Q. Transport – what mode of transport did you choose and who was the supplier?
A. We are arriving out of sight by mini bus from Cleeland Bus Lines courtesy of our best old family friends Clarrie and Tuppy Cleeland.
Q. Food & Drink – what are they like and who is the supplier if not venue?
A. Antipasto table, canapes and bowl food as part of a cocktail reception by Brent Sinclair Catering and a great selection of beer and wine lovingly hand picked and sampled by us!
Q. Is there any other supplier you would specifically like to mention:
A. Thanks to the Rhyll Phillip Island Angling Club for the use of some bar furniture, Geoff Marks for a portable coolroom, The Guilty Party and Nicole & Justin for the music and Daisy and Moon for everything else!
