The phillip island wedding of Jason & Rachel was held at the wedding venue Clifftop on Saturday 5 April 2014. Below are a few words from the bride about their big day and how their relationship blossomed:
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. We met in England where Jay had been living for about 9 years. Jay owned and ran a hairdressing salon which Rachel happened to go into after a recommendation from a friend.
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Proposal took place on Smith Beach, Phillip Island. Jay wrote some messages in the sand without Rachel knowing and then took her for a walk with the dogs to stumble across the proposal just as the sun was setting.
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon? Please include dates of departure & return (dates are for our info only).
A. Honeymoon will be in Thailand.
Q. What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)
A. Buying a house and visiting family and friends in Europe with perhaps a small snowboarding diversion trip!
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Ceremony will be on Smith’s Beach and reception will be held at Clifftop Boutique Accommodation, a great place for guests to stay as well as being a short walk from the beach, situated on top of the clifftop overlooking Smiths Beach.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like?
A. White halter neck full length wedding dress with small train. Made from Chiffon with 2 layers, a lace up back and some diamonte detailing on the front.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. Beach theme, sea shells.
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. Hair and airbrushed make-up is done by Ally from Make-Up and Body Art.
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. Bronwyn Heffernan
Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. No florist. Bouquets were made by Rachel and her maid of honour Pennie, and are made out of seas shells.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. Cake supplied by Elaine at Party Cakes and Bakes situated on the island.
Q. Food & Drink – what are they like and who is the supplier if not venue?
A. Smokin Barry’s food truck for main meals. Bite-sized desserts done by a family friend.
