Traralgon Wedding – Luke & Amy

Luke & Amy’s Traralgon Wedding was held at Valley View Manor on 28 November 2015.  To get to know our bridal couples a little better we like to ask them some questions about their relationship and their big day.  Below are Luke & Amy’s answers:
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. We met when Luke was working part time at hungry jacks, a mutual friend introduced us. We were 16 and 17 years old. Amy thought that Luke was very cute and seemed sweet and quite shy. Luke thought that Amy was very good looking and very confident. We perfectly balance each other out and have been together for 11 amazing years now.
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Luke proposed at the same spot he asked me to be his girlfriend when we first met. This was a small corner shop near my parents house, he took me back there and asked me to be his wife. He later told me he had been planning this for 8 months.
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?.
A. We are going to New Zealand.
Q. What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)
A. We plan to keep travelling overseas regularly. We are always saving to buy a house but then we go on holidays again. Eventually we will settle somewhere, we want to buy an old house and renovate it together and then start a family.
Q.Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Our ceremony and reception are both being held at Valley View Manor in Toongabbie, Victoria. We selected this venue because we wanted a spot close to our home town so that all of our family could attend with ease.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. My wedding dress is a high neck sleeveless dress with a small train and a keyhole in the back. I chose the dress because it is so elegant in its simplicity, yet it still has unique details with the cut out and the bow detail.I feel so beautiful in it. I am wearing pearl stud earrings that Luke bought for me in Fiji when we went for my 21st birthday. For a necklace I am wearing my dads wedding ring on a thin gold chain. My shoes I chose for height as I am quite short compared to Lukey.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. Sweet and Simple, succulents were the basis of the colour pallette
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. My hair and make up is inspired by the elegance of earlier eras. Mels Cutting Room from Traralgon are the hair and make up artists, selected because a close friend of my family is one of their talented stylists.
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. Our ceremony is being conducted by a celebrant by the name of Shirley Walker.
Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. Our flowers are being provided by Flowers by Rhi in Traralgon. The flowers in my bouquet were selected because they were my favourites and narrowed down based off the flower meanings from the Victorian language of flowers. The boys are having succulent boutonnieres and Lukes will have a Lisianthus with his succulent.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. Our wedding favours are Lukes rum ball recipie which we have put in bags for each guest. Our cake is a sponge cake which is being made by Lukes mum.
Q. Transport – what mode of transport did you choose and who was the supplier?
A. We just hired cars to use whilst we are home and my brother will drive me to the wedding.
Q. Food & Drink – what are they like and who is the supplier if not venue?
A. Food is provided by Maffra spit roast. Drinks are provided by Monacellars
Q. Is there any other supplier you’d particularly like to mention?
A. Jenny Connolly – Owns Valley View Manor and has provided our tables and chairs and has been a wonderful help throughout the planning process.
