The Stones of the Yarra Valley Wedding of Brad & Gabi was held on Monday 3rd November 2014. Below are some words from the bride about their history together and their wedding day:-
When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
We meet when I was on holidays at Phillip island in 2001. He approached me a lot in 2001 and 2002 summer holidays on the beach and in the street. I was shy and turned down his advances for a couple of years. In 2002 we began talking on the phone and when I came back for summer holidays in 2003 he asked me out for dinner and from then I was the one chasing him. We have been together since 3.01.03.
When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
In 2008, on my 21st birthday, Brad took me down to the Yarra river in Warrandyte. He gave me 6 red roses to symbolise the 6 beautiful years we had shared and then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We are road tripping for a month in our camper trailer with our blue healer, Oscar. We are going to Kangaroo Valley, Byron Bay, Noosa, Yamba and Malacoota.
What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)
Happiness, laughter, support and unconditional love. We dream of raising our family in nature. Trying our best to be self sustainable and raising our children to live Eco friendly, with a connection to nature.
Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
Stones of the Yarra Valley for the views and the setting.
What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
My dress was Mariana Hardwick. It was a long lace corset, with tulle beginning at the upper thigh. My shoes were Benjamin Adams, London – they were ivory silk with 4 inch heals covered in crystals. I had no jewellery except a crystal feather headband. The dress stole the show, so I kept the jewellery simple.
