Mornington Peninsula Wedding Photography – Patrick & Sarah

Patrick & Sarah were married on 2nd April 2016 at the Davey’s Bay Yacht Club in Mt Eliza.  We like to get to know our brides and grooms so below are some details on how they met and their planned future together.

Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?

A. We met at Cruze nightclub in Mornington 8 years ago. We were both having a great drunk time out with our friends. My sister and I bumped into Pat and his friends on purpose and we seemed to hit it off straight away. The night is a hazy to both of us.

I remember his lovely big smile and Pat remembers me being easy to talk to.

Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Pat proposed to me on NYE 2014 in the backyard at home. I really love our home and initially wanted to get married at home, but couldn’t fit everyone in our yard!
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
A. We went to Ocean Grove for a few nights after our big day which was very relaxing. We are now busy planning a big adventure starting in South Africa and finishing in Hawaii.
Q. What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)
A. We plan on having lots of holidays in the next couple of years before starting a family. We would also love to get more furchildren!
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Our ceremony was held on the beach out the front of Davey’s Bay Yacht Club in Mt Eliza. Our reception was held inside the yacht club. We chose this venue because the views over the bay are just gorgeous! We feel that it was a bit of a hidden gem that our guests would enjoy.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. My dress was a fitted lace dress with a bit of sparkle! I wore my mothers pearl necklace and small wedges for shoes so I could walk easily on the sand.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. Beach themed.
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. Hair was done by the lovely Mobile Makeovers! Hair was done by my childhood friend Siobhan.
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. The wonderful Melissa Jacobs!
Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. The fabulous Woops a daisy florist in Cranbourne took care of all of my gorgeous flowers and decorating the yacht club for me.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. My sister Becky a pastry chef did our cake. Onya Becky!
Q. Transport – what mode of transport did you choose?
A. Limo

A. The hard working team from Moreish Catering supplied our wonderful food.
Q. Is there any other supplier you would specifically like to mention:

Sorrento Wedding Photography

Local Phillip Island couple Jake & Clare were married at the St Johns Anglican church in Sorrento followed by the reception at the Sorrento Hotel on 11th April 2015.  Here are some words about their mornington peninsula wedding from the bride:

Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. Jake and I first met at my work when he came to visit his father, who happens to be my boss. I was horrified at the time because my boss and I had a joke going about how I should marry his son, who I knew nothing about, and all of a sudden here we all were having coffee. Jake and I got talking and quickly worked out we actually had a lot in common, and started cycling together.
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Jake proposed at home and had told me he was working late one night but he’d actually gone and picked up the ring. When he came in the door I was so busy preparing dinner that I didn’t realise I’d walked past the ring box he’d placed on the table for me to see. He called me over, got down on one knee and asked if I’d marry him. I said yes of course! Then he told me we had a dinner reservation at our favourite restaurant Manna Gum so I put our leftovers away, dressed up and went out to celebrate. We both couldn’t wipe the smile off our faces all night and I couldn’t stop looking at the shiny new ring that was now on my finger!
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
A. We went to Tahiti and Moorea for 11 nights. We were very lucky with the weather and had tropical 30 degrees nearly every day, and did some serious relaxing. We swam and snorkelled every day and enjoyed the French – Polynesian cuisine.
Q. What are your future plans together?
A. We both can’t wait to buy a house together. We will be saving up pretty hard to achieve our goal as soon as we can. I promised Jake too that once we buy a house then we can get another playmate for our beloved dog, Sassy. We have also set our sights on saving up for a trip to Paris in a few years time, too.
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Our ceremony was held at St John’s Anglican Church of Sorrento and our wedding reception was held at Hotel Sorrento. We chose these venues because we felt they had a romantic and exciting atmosphere that we and all of our guests would enjoy on our wedding day. We took a leap of faith in choosing the room at Hotel Sorrento because when we booked it (almost a year in advance), the reception room didn’t exist yet and the building was yet to begin. We went off the plans but it all paid off because the reception was as stunning as I had imagined. We chose Sorrento ultimately as Jake was from Phillip Island and I am originally from Warrnambool so it was roughly a halfway point for a lot of our guests.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. My wedding dress is a very traditional ‘pricess’ style ivory dress. It has a fitted, jewelled, strapless bodice and a big tulle skirt and a long train. It was purchased from Raffael Cuica in Brunswick, Melbourne, along with the veil and accessories. The veil was a very long one to match the dress, and I loved how it would occassionally catch in the wind on the day. I wore pearl drop earrings and a diamonte bracelet, along with a diamonte hairpiece. I chose a bare neckline as the beading on the bodice of the dress was a feature and I didn’t want to detract from it. I wore sparkly silver pointy shoes that had a small heel so that my feet weren’t too sore by the end of the day.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. The theme of our wedding was modern traditional. The colour scheme was silver and light pink.
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. The hair stylists were Darren and Daniel from Darren George Hair, who were amazing. My hair was loosely curled and swept around to one side with my hairpiece off-centre. The make-up was done by Gia from Outer to Inner Beauty who was also fantastic. She highlighted my eyes with a smoky look, and gave me light pink lipstick just a few shades darker than my bridemaids. We are already clients of both the hair and makeup suppliers who travelled from Phillip Island up to Sorrento for our special day (including Lucas!) and we really appreciated it!
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. Father Nick Wallace conducted the service in conjunction with our family friend, Reverend Malcolm Ward, from Naringal Baptist Church.

Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. My flowers were a big bunch of ivory roses from Tyabb Roses. My bridesmaids had a mixture of ivory and differing shades of light pink roses to match their dresses. The flowers in the boquets and in the vases at the reception were all modern and classic – you can’t go wrong with roses.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. The wedding favours were from a little french macaron shop that we love in Melbourne – La Belle Miette. The bonbonniere was a gorgeous box containing two pink macarons. Jake’s Grandma, Eve, made the wedding cake for us as a gift. It was three tiers of chocolate mud cake, which had white icing, silver ribbon and flowers all around it.
Q. Transport – what mode of transport did you choose and who was the supplier?
A. We chose to drive around with our wedding party altogether in a limousine so that we could enjoy the day with our closest friends in the one vehicle. We chose RSV Limousines because we had met the owner, Frank, at a bridal expo in Melbourne and he was very friendly, and the Mercedes Benz limo that we chose was there, so we had already sat in it and got a feel for it before we booked it.
Q. Food & Drink – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. The venue that hosted the food and drink was Hotel Sorrento. We had canapes, entree and main course off them, using the wedding cake as the dessert.
Q. Is there any other supplier you would specifically like to mention:
A. I would like to thank the Sarah Rzek Band (and Peninsula Band Host) for playing on the night. Their music was excellent and they seemed to understand what songs to play when perfectly. Many of the guests danced the night away and we had numerous comments about how great the band were. I would also like to thank Initial Impressions for supplying the light up letters ‘C & J’ on the night. The letters added a personal touch to our evening and gave off a beautiful warm glow. A huge thanks again to Lucas – (at Lens to Life Photography) for taking all of our photos and helping capture the best day of our lives!

Melbourne Wedding Photos – Weddingscapes

So, what is a Weddingscape?  The way we describe them is ‘they are beautiful landscapes with our couples in them’.  Our Weddingscapes as art pieces are a much sort after product by our clients.  They are always something that we get many positive comments on.  This is the type of image that many of our bride & grooms want in their melbourne wedding photos.  An amazing scene to reflect the day and to remember it by.  These signature photographs make our clients walls.

Our couples and our photographers always have a lot of fun creating these on the day of the wedding and thoroughly enjoy the experience.  Most couples are willing to put in the extra effort to get that awesome shot.  To enable us to create something they can look back on forever, a piece of ART!

Dalywaters Rose Farm – Marc & Jess

Marc and Jess’s mornington peninsula wedding was held on Friday 29th November 2013. The couple held their ceremony at the Dalywaters Rose Farm and their reception at Mornington Peninsula Golf Club.
How and when did you meet?
We met just over 7 years ago at a local football function, we both instantly liked each other, we have similar sense of humour so got along really well.
When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
Marc proposed on Christmas Eve 2012. It was very understated, which was perfect for us. We watched our traditional Christmas movie “elf” every year and when the credits rolled on playing my all time favourite Xmas song Marc got up and came back to the couch where I was lying, he got down on one knee and popped the question. I was in shock (7 years together, I thought it was never going to happen) and I was so extremely over the moon happy!!
Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We are heading over to the states in March for 6 weeks.
What are your future plans together?
Our future plans are to buy a second house together, travelling and eventually starting a family.
Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
Ceremony: Dalywaters Rose Farm in Mornington, Reception: Mornington golf club.
I absolutely fell in love with Dalywaters the minute we saw it, it just “spoke to me” The golf club is also really lovely and I got a great feeling from the staff as soon as we arrived, it all just worked.
What does your wedding dress look like?
My dress is a ‘mermaid’ style with lace on the bodice, and an extravagant tule layered skirt. I am wearing a veil and some beautiful antique inspired chandelier ear rings. I also have a beautiful tennis bracelet that my mum has brought for me. My flowers are beautiful but I’m really sorry I can’t remember what they are called. I do know there are some amazing peonies in there.
What is the Theme or style of your wedding?
The wedding doesn’t have an exact theme, it’s romantic, rustic, vintage inspired. Nothing specific.
Hair & make up:
Hair is being done by my hairdresser/friend Meg Horsborough, she is doing a soft low bun. Make up is by Andrea at ‘Makeup with me‘
Cake & Wedding Favours:
No cake, we are having a Macaroon tower made by a family friend.
My amazing mum has made the wedding favours, handmade candles for each guest, they smell delicious; creme brûlée and strawberry champagne scents.
Invitations & stationary:
Lesley from ‘Little bits‘ made our invitations, using the same colours I made the place cards for guests with one of my bridesmaids. We also made the booklets for the ceremony and used the same ‘cartoon picture’ my parents had on their wedding invites over 35 years ago. They were really special to me.
Food & drink: Food and drink is all prepared by the golf club. We are having an extended canapé time than usual and cutting out the entree part of the night, to ensure we have some more casual relaxed time with our guests, the mains are Roasted eye fillet with mash potato (my fav) sautéed spinach and red wine jus and Baked chicken breast with a potato gratin, sautéed spinach and white wine tarragon sauce.
