Mornington Peninsula Wedding Photography – Patrick & Sarah

Patrick & Sarah were married on 2nd April 2016 at the Davey’s Bay Yacht Club in Mt Eliza.  We like to get to know our brides and grooms so below are some details on how they met and their planned future together.

Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?

A. We met at Cruze nightclub in Mornington 8 years ago. We were both having a great drunk time out with our friends. My sister and I bumped into Pat and his friends on purpose and we seemed to hit it off straight away. The night is a hazy to both of us.

I remember his lovely big smile and Pat remembers me being easy to talk to.

Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Pat proposed to me on NYE 2014 in the backyard at home. I really love our home and initially wanted to get married at home, but couldn’t fit everyone in our yard!
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
A. We went to Ocean Grove for a few nights after our big day which was very relaxing. We are now busy planning a big adventure starting in South Africa and finishing in Hawaii.
Q. What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)
A. We plan on having lots of holidays in the next couple of years before starting a family. We would also love to get more furchildren!
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Our ceremony was held on the beach out the front of Davey’s Bay Yacht Club in Mt Eliza. Our reception was held inside the yacht club. We chose this venue because the views over the bay are just gorgeous! We feel that it was a bit of a hidden gem that our guests would enjoy.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. My dress was a fitted lace dress with a bit of sparkle! I wore my mothers pearl necklace and small wedges for shoes so I could walk easily on the sand.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. Beach themed.
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. Hair was done by the lovely Mobile Makeovers! Hair was done by my childhood friend Siobhan.
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. The wonderful Melissa Jacobs!
Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. The fabulous Woops a daisy florist in Cranbourne took care of all of my gorgeous flowers and decorating the yacht club for me.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. My sister Becky a pastry chef did our cake. Onya Becky!
Q. Transport – what mode of transport did you choose?
A. Limo
Q. Food & Drink – what are they like?
A. The hard working team from Moreish Catering supplied our wonderful food.
Q. Is there any other supplier you would specifically like to mention:
A. Dj Peter D was a great organiser, DJ and MC for us. He took care of everything on the day. Moreish Catering and Woops a Daisy florist were both so easy to deal with and really excelled on our wedding day. Couldn’t have pulled it off without them.

Willow Creek Wedding – Norm & Kate

Norm & Kate’s willow creek wedding on the mornington peninsula was held on Saturday 25th January 2014, with both the ceremony and reception being held at Willow Creek Vineyard in Hastings.
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. We met through mutual friends, but it was quite a long process! Our first meeting was at an audition, where Norm was the pianist. I ended up performing in a different show, however I went to see the show that Norm was involved with and my best friend / Bridesman (who happened to be working backstage for the production) introduced me to Norm. I thought he was very handsome, but it was a fleeting introduction and so I didn’t think much of it. A few months later, I was involved in a show with Norm’s roommate. After one of the performances, Norm (who I recognised from our previous brief meetings) came striding up to me and asked me to marry him! I laughed and thought, “Oh my goodness, who is this weirdo!” As it turns out, he was not a weirdo at all but in fact, “the one”. The joke now is that it took him 10 years to say those words again!
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Our day began with an incredible massage at Endota Spa in Williamstown (a favourite indulgence of ours). We then checked into a hotel in the city, where Norm proceeded to sit me down and read to me the most gorgeous speech. He got down on one knee, produced an incredible ring from his pocket and asked me to marry him. I was so overwhelmed that the first words to come out of my mouth were, “Are you serious?!” (Luckily for me he was). We then called my Dad to share the news, who was actually travelling in a ferry in Ireland at the time! We called our close family and friends over dinner at The Long Room and ended our Saturday 27th of August celebrations at “Rock of Ages” at the Comedy Theatre. I had had my suspicions that a proposal was on the cards, but I was still unprepared for just how amazing a feeling it would be.
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon? Please include dates of departure & return.
A. We are heading to Europe in August / September. We chose that time of year so as to enjoy the tail-end of Europe’s summer, but it’s also a nice way to extend our wedding celebrations.
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Both our ceremony and reception are at Willow Creek Vineyard in Merricks North. We looked at several venues on the Mornington Peninsula and I think we knew it was the place for us as soon as we arrived. Later that day as we were deliberating over lunch in Sorrento, our waitress came to our table and her nametag read “Willow”. We considered it a sign.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a details description and also include any accessories such as shoes.
A. I am wearing a Pronovias gown (“Domingo”) with lace and tulle. When searching for dresses, I did not expect to choose such a traditional gown, but it looked so romantic and it really made me feel like a bride.
Q. What is the Theme or style of your wedding?
A. Classic romance
Q. Jewelry & Accessories
A. I am wearing a very special pendant attached to my bracelet, which has been made with lace from my mum’s wedding gown. Sadly she passed away in 2006, but wearing such a special memento makes me feel like she will be close by. (Bracelet: Tiffany & Co; Lace Pendant: Gabby Resin Jewellery; Earrings: Fletcher & Grace)
Q. Hair & make up
A. Hair: Kendrie Coonan of Chick Flicks Event Hair, Makeup: Dana Leviston of Lady Day
Q. Who is conducting your service?
A. Our celebrant is Christine Preston, who is also my aunty. Having someone marry us with whom we have such a great bond is extremely special.
Q. Florist
A. Our bouquets, boutonnières, corsages and centrepieces have all been created by Courtney Barton and include ivory and blush David Austin Roses, white lissianthus, gardenias and freesias.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake
A. Our cake features a tier of white chocolate mud and a tier of red velvet, prepared by the talented Janelle at Cake Ink . For our favours, we organized fortune cookies with our own messages inside ( along with a CD featuring all of the songs from the day.
Q. Invitations & Stationary
A. The Robert Indiana “LOVE” sculpture inspired the initial concept and then expanded into incorporating a watercolour design in a summery palette. Our invitations came to life thanks to the assistance of our dear friend, Tailem Morgan. This theme continued into our other printed materials for the day, including our “Message in a Bottle” guest book. We created labels for 10 wine bottles, each representing future anniversaries. Guests were invited to write us a message and then scroll it up and place into one of the wine bottles. We can’t wait to open one each year and read what everyone has written.
Q. Food & Drink
A. When choosing a venue, the quality of food and wine was top of our priorities list. We wanted to ensure there would also be an ample amount – we had a “no Macca’s run required” philosophy! The team at Salix have put together a delicious menu and were also kind enough to put aside our favourite vintage Chardonnay from the cellar door just for our night.
Q. Is there any other supplier you would specifically like to mention:
A. Light-up LOVE letters provided by The Three Piece Suit

Although we do what we do, not for praise, it is always nice to receive a thank you for a job well done.  It is lovely to know that our brides and grooms and their families appreciate not only the work that we do on the day to create the best melbourne wedding photos, but the hours of editing, retouching and designing of their albums.  We work hard to ensure they love the finished products and that they will become even more valuable and treasured as time roles on.

Whether we are shooting melbourne wedding photos, gippsland, phillip island or the mornington peninsula, we are always aiming to complete and produce our best work ever.

Below is just some of the kind things our brides and grooms and their families have had to say about our work.
