Melbourne Town Hall Wedding

Shane & Peta’s Melbourne Town Hall Wedding was followed by a reception at the riverside venue The Boathouse. Here is a little from the bride about her wedding day…
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. We first met each other when Peta filled in for a netball team that Shane played for. Our friendship group started spending a lot of time together, and we found that we had similar interests and felt a connection and became friends immediately and then started dating shortly after.
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. The proposal took place on a late night walk along the beach in Phi Phi Island, Thailand. Shane had organised to have my engagement ring made by a jeweler in Melbourne but didn’t take it with him, he gave it to me when we got back home. He was nervous but still got down on one knee to ask and we were both excited and happy
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon? Please include dates of departure & return.
A. We are going to Hawaii, Orlando, Miami, cruise around the Bahamas, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Q. What are your future plans together?
A. We want to continue our yearly overseas trips, buy a house that will eventually be home to a family.
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Ceremony is being held at the Melbourne Town Hall Balcony. Not only is the space stunning, we have spent a lot of time in the city and it brings up many happy memories. The reception is at The Boathouse in Maribyrnong. We both grew up around this side of Melbourne, we love the water, and it fits in with our casual/informal nature. The food at The Boat-House is always amazing and we really enjoy good food and the atmosphere the space has fits in with our personalities really well.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like?
A. Strapless A-line gown which has a lot of detail of lace, and then diamantes and pearls as a simple feature on the gown.
Shoes are low heel with simple strap across the toes and a strap around the ankle with a rectangle diamante buckle.
Q. What is the Theme or style of your wedding?
A. Formal, yet relaxed
Q. Jewelry & Accessories:
A. my own bracelet that Shane bought me a few years ago for my birthday
Q. Hair & make up:
A. Kendal Deckert is the hair and makeup artist. Style ok makeup will be elegant but simple, hair curled but pinned up in a sort of side bun
Q. Who is conducting your service?
A. Celebrant (Meriki Comto – Simply Celebrant)
Q. Florist:
A. a variety of different types of roses in simple pastel colours of in different shades of ivory, and light pink. In a round bunch.
Maureen from Magnolia Court Flowers in Lalor
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake
A. Cake is being made by Shanes mum Lynette Zanatta who is a professional cake maker. It is 5 tiers with white icing and different design on each level, such as floral stencil pattern painted onto the bottom tier, wedding cake topper sitting on one of the middle tiers and S&P in icing on another, with some sugar flowers on top tier flowing down the cake as well. Flavours are white mud cake, and chocolate mud cake.
Q. Invitations & Stationary

Guests will enjoy canapes on the balcony as they arrive, followed by a choice of 2 entree, 2 mains, 2 desserts, and cheese platter, wines include a sauvignon blanc (as that’s my favourite white wine) shiraz, champagne and beer

Nick proposed on our 7 year anniversary on the 7/7/12 in Honolulu, Hawaii. We enjoyed a day of shopping & relaxing by the pool. Nick had organized a surprise dinner at Wolfgang’s restaurant. [wedding photos in melbourne] – Stephen & Lisa

Stephen & Lisa were married at Kamesburgh Gardens in Brighton which was a beautiful place for wedding photos in melbourne. Additional photo’s were taken at the Sandringham Yacht Club. The slideshow below is a snap shot of the couples wedding day which was shown to their guests during the reception in the evening. Following is some questions we asked the bride and her answers:

How did you meet?
Steve and I originally met through mutual friends, we used to go to the same local parties when we were younger. At first we just became good friends eventually becoming best friends always there for each other but as time went along we both knew that there was much more there, and things just began to develop.

Where and how did the proposal take place?
The proposal was actually quite exciting Steve had proposed at my (Lisa) 21st birthday party. He was doing this absolutely beautiful speech and you could just tell it was heading somewhere before I knew he was down on one knee in front of me with this amazing engagement ring in a jewellery box. It was so amazing in front of all our friends and both of our families. Everybody was so excited for us it was so great to be able to share such an amazing time with all our closest friends and family.

Where was your wedding held?
The wedding ceremony was held at Kamesburgh Gardens in Brighton which we had set up with market umbrellas, floral arrangements and seats for our guests. The reception then followed at the Sandringham Yacht Club which was not only an amazing venue to look at, but had five star service from beginning to end.

What was the Theme or Style?
We didn’t really have a theme that we stuck to in the sense of traditional or modern, we just chose the things that we liked. The colour theme was lemon yellow and it was absolutely gorgeous it went with everything summer, the garden and the yacht club.

What was your favourite moment of your wedding?
Of course we want to say the whole day there were just so many highlights. But for me as the bride the best moment was when finally reached the beginning of the aisle and saw Steve for the first time and he was seeing me, he started crying. He is a man of very few emotions, so to see him crying and his best man holding him really tugged at my heart, it was seriously beautiful. Steve – spending the morning with his mates and the speeches were a definite highlight, but the one special moment was also the first moment he saw the bride, it was breathtaking, she looked gorgeous I never thought that that moment could actually bring me to tears.

Description of Bride’s Dress:
The dress was a Designs by Moonlight it was made from Regal satin with a soft sweetheart top. It had a lace-up back and a chapel train. The dress also had detailing with swarovski crystals, gems, glass, bugle, seed beads and clear sequins.

The Honeymoon Destination and any details or stories you’d like to share:
For the honeymoon we are off to Tahiti which is going to be fantastic. We are away for 12 days staying on the main island of Papeete and then heading to Moorea where will spend our stay on a beach view room and then the second half in an overwater bungalow which we are both very excited about.

Suppliers you would love mentioned:
There are a few special suppliers and services that we would like to mention:

Videography – Rachael Mary Videography was absolutely amazing anyone who can put up with 7 boys and a bridal party of 14 should be commended. She just went about her business the whole day and did a massive 15 hours we cannot wait to see what she has captured.

Hair was done by Mel at Devine Hair Studios who came to the house on morning, which was so great and convenient with such a large bridal party.

Steve Mason the celebrant was amazing so professional the whole time and made sure no stone was left unturned and made the ceremony all about Steve and I where we began, we have been and where we are going. Just amazing. Not to mention that he brought his wife along to help organise the girls, tell them when it was time to walk and help me the bride with making sure the train on my dress was fine before I began to walk out.

Chas D our DJ and MC was fantastic. Could not recommend him high enough. He helped create a night that reflected Steve and I as well as our guest. He helped us organise the night so it ran smoothly whilst keeping it light hearted and funny. And his DJ service was absolutely awesome the night would not have been the same without him.

You can not forget Lucas (melbourne wedding photos) either, after seeing his work with one of our guests at the wedding we knew that his work was not like anything else. When we first met with him that just reconfirmed how professional and passionate he is about his work. He made us both feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and was so easy to work with. He was a great guy that we had a lot of fun with and cannot wait to see the work he produces capturing such a significant and amazing day for us. Thank you so much, will definitely be finding any excuse to have photographs taken by him again. Thank you so so much.
