Silverwater Wedding – Jake & Jen
Jake and Jen’s Phillip Island Wedding ceremony was held at Trenavin Chapel. It was followed by a reception at the beautiful Silverwater Resort in San Remo. Here are some words from the bride about how the couple met and also about their big day!!
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. We met through the local football and netball club in Inverloch. We both thought the other was easy on the eye 🙂
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. The proposal took place in March 2013. We woke up at 4:00am to do the Cape Woolamai walk so we could watch the sunrise. We watched it rise and after we had eaten breakfast up there Jake got down on one knee. We were both very excited.
Q. What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)?
A. Start a family
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. The ceremony is being held at Trenavin Chapel and the reception is at Silverwater Resort. We chose these because they are both beautiful locations.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. The dress is a light champagne colour with an ivory lace overlay, it is fitted and strapless, it has a scalloped train. The veil is light and sits below the small of my back. I’ll have an Ivory rose in my hair. Jewellery is my engagement ring, small bracelet, small earrings with sapphires and diamonds and two diamond studs in each ear. (all white gold or silver). Shoes are gold, open toed heels.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. Touch of vintage
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. Hair will be an up-do to the side with a rose and the veil, makeup will be neutral colours like soft browns, airbrushed makeup-supplier: Ally De La Rosa
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. John Murphy-celebrant
Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. Mimmy’s florist and gifts in Cowes. The bridesmaids are carrying soft, pale pink roses with a little greenery and I will have a bigger version with white flowers in it too. The table centrepieces are submerged flowers with pebbles and a floating tea light candle on top.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. Wedding favours are a lolly buffet put together by us and the wedding cake is made by Jen’s mum. It is white chocolate cupcakes with a small cake on top to cut into.
Q. Transport – what mode of transport did you choose and who was the supplier?
A. We have 2 charcoal Ford G6Es for the bridal party and a 65 silver and cherry red Chevy
Q. Food & Drink – what are they like and who is the supplier if not venue?
A. Jen’s mum and crew are putting together nibbles and champagne for after the ceremony, Jake’s mum is getting the beer. Then out at Silverwater there are canapes on arrival (assorted sushi rolls, chicken satays and asian dumplings), mains-oven roasted chicken breast with cherry tomato and basil sauce and veg, and morroccan lamb with cous cous, mediterranean veg, dessert-baked citrus tart and a warmed chocolate brownie. Drinks are assorted red and white wine, beer, champagne, soft drinks and juice
