[Phillip Island Photography] – Kate
Kate approached us recently wanting to do a shoot for her modelling portfolio. We were happy to oblige and were so pleased to receive an amazing testimonial from her mum who was thrilled with the images (see below).
Elaine (Kate’s Mum) – “We had a great time, the shoot was set up quickly to fit in with us, Lucas established a fantastic rapport with Kate so she felt comfortable both in the studio and out on location. Lucas listened to ‘the brief’ (which was pretty vague, I have to admit), interpreted Kate’s requirements wonderfully, let her choose the outfits she wanted to wear – all her own wardrobe, about 4 changes I think – and chose a great location for the outdoor shots. The product range on offer is really good, interesting & different. For our purposes, the value for money proposition of getting selected Hi-Res images chosen by Lucas on a CD was an excellent choice. Plus we’ve ordered a lumitile as a gift for Kate’s grandparents. That’s a really special & new way of presenting a photo, they’re going to love it! Also, the actual photography session fee was quite a bit less than I had anticipated. So all up, yes it was great value and we’re completely satisfied.
Lucas takes fabulous photos, he’s so easy to deal with, thoroughly professional. I suppose you expect technical expertise as a ‘given’ in professional photography but Lucas, who had never met Kate before, was able to capture Kate’s personality and a range of her moods & expressions beautifully and (this might sound a bit odd) really efficiently. Lucas made Kate feel at ease and she felt fine in front of the camera, not awkward, she really wanted to be there and go into the swing of it, following instructions and taking ‘direction’ from the photographer as if she was born to it! It didn’t take all day, nor all afternoon, in fact from start to finish I think the shoot took maybe an hour & a half including travel time to the outdoor location.
(We were) completely satisfied, just ecstatic, the photos are simply superb. This is the Mum’s perspective. Is that gorgeous girl really my daughter? When we came to the studio a couple of days ago to see Lucas’ selection of photos from the shoot, we were treated to a larger-than-life slideshow on the data projector, with gorgeous music as well, I was beaming from ear to ear (I’m a Mum, it’s my job) but Kate was simply amazed at herself… she had seen some of the images on Lucas’s camera on the day, but must have had her heart in her mouth wondering what the overall result would be. She’s really chuffed. Over the moon. But I’m not allowed to boast to anyone how good these photos make her look, that would be skiting. Oh please, these photos are so good she’s never allowed to be modest about her looks and incredible red hair ever again! “Hair on fire!” Yay!”
