Clifftop Wedding Phillip Island – Tom & Kellie
Tom & Kellie’s Clifftop Wedding was held on Phillip Island on Saturday 1st March 2014. It was followed by a lovely cocktail reception at the same venue. Here is a little about the couple and their big day in the brides own words:
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. Tom and I met when we were both working in Melbourne, we actually met a couple of times and either time I didn’t remember who he was (secretly I thought he was abit too cool). A couple of years later we had another chance meeting when we started working in the same building. I still didn’t realize we had already met. We started dating and we were a few months into it before he advised me he was that same person years earlier that I’d had lunch with! He likes to remind me of this from time to time!
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. It was in my home town of Warrnambool on the 25/12/2012 Tom very bravely in front of my family Tom bent down on one knee (Actually both knees because he didn’t know which one to use!) he gave me a book…inside the book Tom had cutout a square hole through all the pages and there sat a beautiful ring to which I said yes! It was all very exciting and so nice to be able to share the moment and celebrate with family.
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
A. We are going to Europe for six weeks leaving in July to take advantage of a European summer, we are visiting, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, Greek Islands and Switzerland..cannot wait!!
Q. What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)
A. After our honeymoon we look forward to enjoying ‘Island life’ in our home at Smiths Beach and maybe starting a family, in addition to our four legged babies ‘Sadie’ and ‘Poppy’.
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Both the ceremony and the reception are being held at Clifftop, We love living at Smiths Beach and we really wanted to keep things local to reflect who we are. Clifftop really suited the relaxed and earthy feel that we were after with the beautiful views overlooking our local Smiths beach.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. My dress is designed by Wendy Sullivan, the bodice features vintage lace with a sweetheart neckline and a delicate one shoulder motive, the skirt is a soft flowing chiffon. I tried on alot of dresses and was so relieved when i found ‘the one’! I will team it with simple pearl earrings and shoes are from Jo Mercer.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. Rustic romance
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. The creative Jess Kramp from ‘brush and brows‘ did my makeup and was so lucky to have my talented cousin Damian Wardle do my hair.
Q. Who is the person conducting your service?
A. Cam Abood from Leongatha.
Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. The colour palette through out is soft pinks and creams, the majority of my flowers are being completed by Coastal Wedding and Event decor which I am co-owner, I am extremely lucky to have my bridesmaides mum Anna prepare the flowers for me.
Q. Wedding Favours & Cake – what are they like and who is the supplier?
A. The cake is supplied by the creative Beck Harland, 5 tiers of vintage cupcakes and a tier tier cake made of white chocolate. We also have a fun sweet station for the sweet tooths!
Q. Transport – what mode of transport did you choose and who was the supplier?
A. In keeping with the rustic theme we were so lucky to arrive in our friends blue combi van ‘Betty’. The combi had a makeover in time for the special day and looked quite a treat! Supplied by Kerrie and Stephen Wright.
Q. Food & Drink – what are they like and who is the supplier if not venue?
A. The creative team from Kooks catering from Fish Creek put together our menu, we had a cocktail style wedding. Definitely worth the drive to Fish Creek to try their food!
Q. Is there any other supplier you would specifically like to mention:
A. It really was a team effort. Working in weddings myself I was soo lucky to have great people around me and putting in the hardyards to make my vision come to life. My bridesmaids are amazing and kept me on track the whole time. Of course the team at Coastal wedding and Event decor 😉
It was amazing to see how much people really care and want to help. A big thanks to all our beautiful friends and family.
